SUMMARY: Provides a positive district image for all visitors and personnel who desire information and/or services. Greets public, parents, students, vendors, etc., for the purpose of responding to their inquiries and/or escorting/directing them to appropriate personnel. Managing training room attendees, direct support facility department’s appointments and interviews, and assisting with various administrative duties.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Answers and manages multi-line telephone system for the purpose of screening calls, transferring calls, responding to inquiries and/or taking messages.
  2. Provides a positive district image for all visitors and personnel who desire information and/or services.
  3. Performs complex secretarial work of an administrative nature including but not limited to filing, copying, making appointments, word processing, sorting, distributing mail and correspondence, and other office functions.
  4. Greets public, parents, students, vendors, etc. for the purpose of responding to their inquiries and/or escorting/directing them to appropriate personnel.
  5. Diffuses difficult or emotional situations for the purpose of taking action and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.
  6. Manages a variety of items (e.g. special delivery and overnight mail/packages, messages, etc.) for the purpose of disseminating materials to appropriate parties.
  7. Maintain an attra/ctive, comfortable and safe reception area.
  8. Accommodates flexible work hours to meet the needs of the District as determined by the supervisor.
  9. Creates, transcribes and distributes notes, agendas, minutes and similar materials.
  10. Establishes and maintains good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors.
  11. Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
  12. Other job related duties as assigned.

Positions in this class typically require:  balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

 

Light Work:  Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. 

 

Working Conditions:  Work is routinely performed in an indoor, office environment.
