SUMMARY: To assist in providing for the security and protection of all students, staff and property.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Patrols assigned areas on foot or in a vehicle to ensure security of students, visitors, property and equipment.
- Maintains a safe and orderly flow of foot traffic in hallways, on campus and in parking areas; provides public assistance and information.
- Monitors adherence with safety, security and organizational rules; provides warnings, information and direction when violations occur; monitors students to ensure timely reporting to assigned classes.
- Monitors school grounds, parking areas, buildings and equipment and reports irregularities, hazards or other safety/security issues; monitors site access to allow only authorized visitors.
- Communicates with members of faculty, administration and other related functional areas to collaborate with and advise on safety/security issues.
- Maintains cleanliness and order of facility spaces.
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
- Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors
- Transports students to and from school and other activities using a school van.
- Supervises student conduct and maintains safety at all times.
- Reports undisciplined students to proper authority and fills out required forms.
- Follows established directions for breakdowns and emergencies.
- Reports all accidents to proper authority and completes related reports.
- Maintains accurate written records as required.
- Performs mandatory pre-trip inspections.
- Maintains a clean District vehicle.
- Maintains an awareness of unusual noises or conditions of vehicle, and reports such to fleet maintenance staff.
- Observes all mandatory driving safety regulations.
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
- Establish and maintain good rapport with employees, students and community.
- Other job related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
LICENSING:
- Obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR card.
- Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Class D License.
- Submit to annual and random, Drug and Alcohol Testing.
- Acceptable driving record for the last (3) three years.
- Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC).

ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class require: stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Working Conditions: Work is routinely performed in an indoor office and outdoor environment including exposure to loud noise and being on your feet.
