SUMMARY: To help provide for and insure the security and protection of all students and staff, while crossing the streets

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist children in crossing intersections on the way to and from school at assigned times
  • Interact with children, staff and community members on a positive basis
  • Placement and removal of speed signs and reporting maintenance when required
  • Protect safety of children at all times while on duty
  • Report student safety infractions
  • Report license numbers of vehicles violating safety regulations
  • Monitor and report infractions of state laws regarding school zones
  • Have and maintain district supplied equipment
  • Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors
  • Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Education/Certification                                                           

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC)                                          

Abilities:                                                     

  • Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals                                      
  • Apply reason to research and solve moderately complex issues with little or no assistance                                    
  • Read and interpret general documents such as employee handbooks and safety/training manuals                                     
  • Write general correspondence and speak effectively with others

While performing the duties of this job, employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk and lift and move more than 20lbs.  The employee occasionally will sit.  The employee is required to reach with hand and arms regularly.  Employee will frequently interact with the public and other staff members.
