SUMMARY: To help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible men and women.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teaches district-approved curriculum.
  • Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the time designated.
  • Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
  • Creates a classroom environment that is conductive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.
  • Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
  • Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and – in harmony with the goals—establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects and the like to communicate these objectives to students.
  • Evaluates students’ academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports.
  • Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day.
  • Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors.
  • Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
  • Other job related duties as assigned.

Education/Certification:

  • Valid Arizona CTE Certificate
  • Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona fingerprint clearance card (FPCC).

Experience:

  • None

Abilities:

  • Read and interpret general documents such as employee handbooks and safety/training manuals.
  • Ready, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Write general correspondence and speak effectively with others.
  • Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and general public
  • Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Interpret assortment of instructions furnished in variable forms.
  • Apply reason to research and solve moderately complex issues with little or no assistance.
