SUMMARY: To help provide for and insure the security and protection of all students and staff, while crossing the streets.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

                                                     

  • Assist children in crossing intersections on the way to and from school at assigned times                                         
  • Interact with children, staff and community members on a positive basis                                        
  • Enforcement of state laws regarding school zones                                      
  • Protect safety of children at all times while on duty                                    
  • Report student safety infractions                                       
  • Report license numbers of vehicles violating safety regulations                                            
  • Placement of speed signs and reporting maintenance when required                                               
  • Have and maintain district supplied equipment                                            
  • Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors                                   
  • Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality                                 
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Education/Certification                                                           

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC)                                            

Abilities:                                                     

  • Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals                                      
  • Apply reason to research and solve moderately complex issues with little or no assistance                                    
  • Read and interpret general documents such as employee handbooks and safety/training manuals                                     
  • Write general correspondence and speak effectively with others
