SUMMARY: Assist in providing for the security and protection of all students, staff and property.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for the general security of all District facilities.  Work hours may vary with adjustment made to benefit the district.
  2. Monitors and reports unauthorized personnel on district property
  3. Monitors any open doors and including school buses, windows and gates and secures them 
  4. Monitor for lights, heat and/or air conditioning units that may have been left operating and take appropriate action
  5. Inspects cafeteria freezers to ensure adequate operation
  6. Maintains a close rapport with local police authorities
  7. Reports any break-ins, vandalism, etc. to local police authorities and appropriate principal or department head
  8. Completes required paperwork such as daily security log, offense reports, etc. and submits to appropriate personnel
  9. Reports to supervisor any abuse, misuse, or unauthorized use of school property observed during security checks
  10. Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors
  11. Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality
  12. Performs other job related duties as assigned

Education:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC)

 

Abilities:

  • Read and interpret general documents such as employee handbooks and safety/training manuals
  • Write general correspondence and speak effectively with others
  • Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Interpret assortment of instructions furnished in variable forms
  • Apply reason to research and solve moderately complex issues with little or no assistance
